Are atheists offended when a theist says "I will pray for you.." "God help you.." etc?

Ambivalent but not offended. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry when one walks about speaking to themselves on my behalf . I wish they would do something more productive like taking me for a free lunch. But, we know there is no such thing as a free lunch so talking to another “no such thing” in regards to me would mean they just got off cheap and left me hungry.

I guess I feel it is a cheap way of saying “I would really rather not do anything tangible to help you so will try to act polite and hope (maybe even pray) that you don’t catch the pretentious part of washing my hands of you”
